CAÑON CITY, CO (May 11, 2018) – On Friday, May 11, Atmos Energy joined Discover Goodwill to announce a strategic, mission-minded partnership sparked by Atmos’ generously-donated, 19-passenger bus titled “Mission in Motion,” which will be dedicated to Discover Goodwill’s Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)—providing critical heating assistance to low-income households throughout Southern and Western Colorado during the wintertime.
“Our future depends on the economic strength and social well-being of our communities,” said Ken Fogle, Atmos Energy Vice President of Operations, Colorado & Kansas Division. “That’s why Atmos Energy is excited to partner with Discover Goodwill, today and in the years to come, to assist those in need … when they need it most.”
“Discover Goodwill is so grateful to be the recipient of Atmos Energy’s mobile services bus, which will literally go out of its way to serve economically-challenged residents in outlying communities—including Canon City and 44 other Colorado counties we now are privileged to serve,” said Jessica Mayo, Discover Goodwill’s Family Services Director. “Although we are entering Colorado’s warmest time of year, experience has taught us that the season for assisting people in need never ends.”
“Mission in Motion” marks the ninth mobile services bus donation from Atmos Energy to prominent, community-focused agencies since 2012. All buses are retrofitted inside and out, with Wi-Fi accessibility, new tires and professionally-branded wraps.
