Pursuits is an innovative, first-of-its-kind, after-school program designed specifically for young adults ages 18-26 with intellectual and learning challenges.
Using a proven, evidence-based curriculum, this robust program prepares young adults for life after high school. Working closely with students in a state-of-the-art facility, our well-trained instructors help them develop tools they need to become independent and engaged adults.
Pursuits increases students’ confidence while teaching core life skills, so they can reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.

Pursuits Program Overview:
The Pursuits program spans 16 weeks, with classes offered every weekday after school. The program is divided into four "Competency Development" sessions:
- Weeks 1-4: Personal Skills
- Weeks 5-8: Relationship Skills
- Weeks 9-12: Work Skills and Functional Math Skills
- Weeks 13-16: Career Exploration
supplemental career placement services for successful transition from high school to employment:
Job Search Skills Training
Includes career exploration and preparation for the application, resume and interview process.
Gives students the optimal opportunity to explore the demands and rigors of a job prospect.
Involves locating job opportunities and initiating employer contact.
Job Follow-up Support
Provides post-placement services during the first 60 days of employment to help the employee and employer develop a strong working relationship.
Pursuits is created for young adults ages 18-26 who have intellectual challenges. Since they will no longer be eligible for funding by age 21 (or earlier based on their social graduation date) this program bridges the gap between the school system and life as an independent adult.
