Goodwill Hires Pueblo General Contractor to Manage Construction of New Retail Center

Goodwill has selected Pueblo-based H.W. Houston Construction Company as the general contractor for its newest retail center opening in Pueblo this spring. Houston Construction was chosen following a competitive bidding process and will be responsible for overseeing the remodeling and renovation of Goodwill’s 30,000 square-foot facility located at 3610 Dillon Drive, just east of I-25, across from the Pueblo Mall.

“We are thrilled to expand Goodwill’s retail and donation services to the residents of Pueblo and feel very confident in selecting Houston Construction to manage this project,” said Lorrie Molli, vice president of Goodwill’s Operations & Sales division. “This company is well-established in the Pueblo community, employs locally and significantly contributes to the local economy—all considerations that weighed heavily in our decision to work with them.” Goodwill also will be hiring 30-40 Pueblo residents to staff the new center, and interested individuals are encouraged to watch for news and announcements about an upcoming job fair.

When completed, Goodwill’s new Pueblo operations will include a drive-thru donation center for quick and convenient drop-off of donated goods, and an adjacent full-scale retail center where residents can shop for name-brand clothing and accessories, housewares, furniture, appliances and more. The new retail center joins Goodwill’s existing locations in Grand Junction, Woodland Park, Fountain and Cañon City, and four locations in Colorado Springs.
